Eligibility Criteria For Indonesian Students to Study in the UK

Given the growing popularity and ease of pursuing higher education in the UK, there has been a 35% increase in Indonesian students studying abroad, especially in the UK, compared to the last decade. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for pursuing bachelor's and master's courses in the UK.

Academic

English Language

Bachelor's

High School curriculum (SMA3) with an overall grade of 80% or higher and a Foundation Programme if required, based on university requirements.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires that every student from outside the UK and the EU must evidence a minimum level of English language proficiency - the B2 Level, to be granted a student route visa to study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.


5.5 or 6.0 in IELTS or equivalent.

Master's

Students who have completed an S1 in a four-year duration with a GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) depending on the accreditation of their degree are considered for admission onto a one-year master's degree.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires that every student from outside the UK and the EU must evidence a minimum level of English language proficiency - the B2 Level, to be granted a student route visa to study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Visa Guidelines

For a TIER 4 UK Student Visa, ensure the following eligibility criteria:

  • Unconditional offer of a place for a course with a licensed Tier 4 sponsor.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and understanding English.
  • A full-time course leading to a degree-level or above degree-level qualification, including RQF levels 6, 7, and 8 (Bachelor, Postgraduate, Master's, or Doctorate).
  • A part-time course at a degree level above RQF 7 (Postgraduate, Master's, or Doctorate).
  • An approved program for postgraduate doctors or dentists.
  • An English language course (level B2 or above) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Sufficient financial stability to support yourself during your study.

Documents you should keep ready before applying for your visa

  • A valid passport or other travel documentation
  • Evidence of funds to support your study and stay in the country
  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number and documents submitted to obtain CAS
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Medical Clearance certificate if required
